“Herb is the healing of a nation”
– Bob Marley

“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you, it shall be for food.”

– Holy Bible

My name is Franz Arturo Carranza and I am the Founder of TheraSolv, LLC. I am currently at Georgia Tech where I am a candidate for a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a focus on biotechnology.

During my early undergrad I had the privilege of conducting research with a team of amazing scientists at Georgia Tech, The Kubanek Research Lab run by doctor Julia Kubanek, where I helped discover the bioactive compounds known as Iododocalophycolic acid A, B, C, & D.  The compounds were later published in the Journal of Organic Chemistry, titled: Iodinated Meroditerpenes from a Reg Alga Callophycus sp. . From that research, I became enamored with the idea of being able to find medicines in nature and bring them to the modern market as alternatives to mainstream pharmaceuticals. I began to do research on how I could do this and quickly encountered what is popularly known as medical cannabis. As my interest was sparked concerning the true medicinal values of the plant, I was almost simultaneously given the opportunity to work with Professor Pete Ludovice in conducting formal cannabis research while at Georgia Tech. During my initial research with Ludovice, I worked on identifying synthetic versions of CBD and THC as well as developing a theoretical reaction scheme to convert THC to CBD. During this period of time, I independently devoted myself to learning a lot about past and present cultivation methods, plant processing methods, current cannabis legislation, current cannabis companies and where their products come from, and how THC and CBD truly work at the protein level. Now, armed with all of my new knowledge, I want to work with the TheraSolv team to revolutionize how the cannabis plant is cultivated and used in households and industries throughout Georgia and the nation.

What is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a trending ingredient in the natural products industry and is the focus of a new area of cannabis research. CBD is one of many cannabinoids, or molecules produced uniquely by the cannabis family including HEMP. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it doesn’t have a strong effect on cognitive brain activity and doesn’t cause the “high” associated with other strains of the cannabis family.

How Does CBD Affect My Body?

There are two main receptors in the Endocannabinoid system within the human brain that bind to cannabinoids: CB-1 and CB-2. These receptors are responsible for triggering certain cell signaling in the brain which produces the various effects. The CB-1 receptor, responsible for producing psychotropic effects or a “high”, is activated upon binding to THC (or Tetra hydro cannabinol) molecules. The CB-2 receptor, responsible for producing the medicinal effects described above, is activated by binding to CBD molecules.

What is the Proper Dosage That I Need?

We suggest that a new consumer’s dosage start at 5 to 10 milligrams of CBD and should be subsequently scaled to fit your needs. Some individuals who suffer from serious ailments may require significantly larger doses.

Is CBD Legal?

YES, The Federal Farm Bill of 2018 classifies Hemp an industrial crop.  Therefore, CBD extracted from hemp is legal in all 50 states! However, not everyone can legally grow hemp.  Georgia is currently taking steps towards allowing hemp cultivation state-wide. Additionally, the FDA has yet to make many regulations so it is extremely important to be mindful of where you are getting your CBD.

How is Our Product Made?

We buy hemp legally grown in Eugene Oregon and then extract the CBD through different “Heat-Swing” process. We then infuse the CBD into our amazing products that are then ready to be used by you wonderful people.

What is Hemp?

Hemp is one of the oldest domestic crops known to man. It has been used for paper, textiles, and cordage for thousands of years. There are many different varieties of the cannabis plant. Hemp – also called industrial hemp – refers to the non-psychoactive (usually less than 1% THC by mass) varieties of Cannabis. Both hemp and marijuana come from the same Cannabis species but are genetically distinct and are further distinguished by use, chemical makeup, and cultivation methods.

Do You Have to Have a Georgia State Medical Cannabis Card to Use Our Products?

Not at all. Because having Hemp (not growing it) is legal in all 50 States, Hemp derived CBD can be consumed legally nation-wide without the approval from the government or need for a doctor’s prescription. Our product is more of a set of natural supplemental vitamins than a set of synthetic drugs.
