Description
Delta 8 THC is taking the cannabis market by surprise and we are thrilled BUT since its basically a new product, there are still many questions about it.
So what do we really know about Delta 8 THC?
🤓 Lets talk science! Here is what we got for you so far. Remember, there is still so much to discover and learn.
✔ What is Delta 8 THC? It is one of 4 most common cannabinoids and similar to its psychoactive relative Delta 9 THC, but with several key differences. Delta 8 THC is chemically different from delta 9 THC by only a few atomic bonds and still offers a potent high of its own.
✔Where does it come from? Delta 8 THC does occur naturally in cannabis, but at very low percentages. Therefore, the Delta 8 THC we are seeing in the market including our own, its ISOMERIZED from CBD.
✔ Will Delta 8 THC Get Me High? Sort of. Users have explained it is being more of a body buzz than a high, without some of the anxiety/head-rush that has been known as a common effect with delta 9.
✔ Will Delta 8 THC show up on a drug test? Most likely yes. Common urine screens look for the presence of a THC metabolite, not the presence of active Delta 9 THC. From what we understand, Delta 8 THC is metabolized by the human body in the same way delta 9 is.
✔ How does Delta 8 THC work in my body? The US NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF CANCER lists Delta 8 THC as having antiemic, anxiolytic, appetite stimulating, analgesic, and neuroprotective properties. On a more scientific level: “DELTA 8 binds to the cannabinoid G-protein coupled receptor CB1, located in the central nervous system; CB1 receptor activation inhibits adenyl cyclase, increases mitogenactivated protein kinase activities, modulates several potassium channel conductances and inhibits N- and P/Q-type Ca2+ channels. This agent exhibits a lower psychotropic potency than Delta 9…”
👆🏻 This information has not been validated by the FDA.
🤓 Let’s talk a bit more…
✔ Is Delta 8 THC legal?
Due to the wording of the 2018 US farm Bill, Delta 8 THC is federally legal if ONLY derived from Hemp. *There are some states that have passed hemp laws that specifically forbid Delta 8. GEORGIA is not one of them.
